One tap, then just talk

There is no sign-up, no account and no topic picker. You open it, you press the button, and you start talking — about trigonometry, or the causes of the First World War, or why bridges do not pull their towers over. She asks what you already know before she explains, because pitching at the wrong level wastes everyone’s time.

She draws, rather than describing

Some things are not made of words. A right triangle explained as three labelled boxes teaches nothing, so Leafy draws the triangle — properly proportioned, with the sides named where they sit and the right angle on the correct corner. She can draw triangles, circles, graphs of functions, number lines, bar charts and proportions, alongside diagrams, timelines, comparisons and step-by-step processes.

Real material, properly credited

When the answer is a photograph — a mountain, a person, a painting — she does not invent one. She fetches the real thing from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and shows you the licence and the photographer underneath it. What you are looking at is what it says it is.

Pricing

Leafy is a paid subscription. A conversation costs real money to run — a live voice model re-sends everything said so far on every turn — so there is no free tier and no advertising. You are the customer rather than the product.

Exact tiers are announced with the App Store listing. A session is one conversation of up to ten minutes, and whatever a plan includes will be stated as a number of sessions rather than a pool of minutes, because that is what is actually being metered.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple: billed to your Apple ID, renewing monthly until cancelled, and cancellable any time from Settings on your iPhone. See support for how.

Questions

Is Leafy an AI?: Yes. She is a character built on Google’s Gemini models — a live audio model for the conversation, and a separate reasoning model for the diagrams and look-ups. She is not a person, and she can be wrong.
Where does my voice go?: While a session is live, what you say is streamed to Google’s Gemini API so that she can answer. That is how she works. It is covered in more detail in the privacy policy.
Do you keep my conversations?: No, and your speech does not pass through Interakly at all — the app opens its audio connection straight to Google using a short-lived token our server issues. What our server does see are her thinking requests, the ones that build a diagram or check a fact, which it forwards without storing. There is no database, and no account to attach anything to.
Why is there a ten-minute limit?: Honesty about cost. A live voice conversation re-sends everything said so far on every single turn, so an hour costs far more than six times ten minutes. The cap keeps the price predictable for both of us. When time is up she says so and the call ends; you can start another.
Does it work offline?: No. She needs a network connection for the whole conversation.
Can I type instead of talking?: Yes, there is a small keyboard button next to the End button. It is deliberately out of the way — this is a voice app, and given a text field most people stop talking.
What do I need?: An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and a network connection. Headphones help but are not required.
